Ep 1. The Invisible Ceiling: Why Successful Coaches Get Stuck
00:02 Let's talk about the invisible ceiling that no one warns you about. I'm not talking about the ceiling of how to get your first client or how to hit your first 5k month. You've already done that. You know how to make sales. You've proven it. The ceiling I'm talking about is the one you hit after success, the one where you've already made 10k, 20k, maybe even 30k months. But it feels like you're dragging your business up a mountain, and every new level just feels heavier.
And here's the truth. You're not stuck because you don't know how to sell. You're stuck because you've built your business on hustle, proving, over-delivering, and now the very thing that made you successful is the very thing that is capping you. Let me say that again, the very thing that made you successful is the very thing that's capping you now. Because there are hidden traps of success, and we need to talk about them. Like, let's call them out.
Trap number one: launch fatigue. You've been running the same big launches, pumping out master classes, challenges, live events. And yeah, they work, but you feel like you're sprinting a marathon every single month, or like you need to do a big launch in order to get the cash injection that you need to hit your goal.
Trap number two: bloated offers. Bloated offers, I call these the kitchen sink offers, where, somewhere along the line, you convinced yourself that more equals better, so you built these massive programs, masterminds with like 15 modules, 100 lessons, 100 calls, and now you're carrying this heavy, over-promised structure on your back.
The third trap to success is the proving cycle. You already are a success story, but you don't realize it because you're so focused on the gap—you're living in the gap—meaning all you can see is where you want to be versus where you are, even though right now there is a version of you, an earlier version of you, whether it was six months ago or six years ago, who would look at where you're at right now and be so shook. She would be so proud. She would be so blown away by what you've done. And yet, if right now, all you can see is the gap versus the gratitude that is going to limit your success, because if you're living in the gap, you're still subconsciously trying to prove that you're worthy of the next level. You're trying to prove your worthiness by working harder, by giving more, by adding more. And these three traps keep you stuck at a certain level. They're going to keep you capped.
So if you have felt right now in your business, like there is just this ceiling that you haven't been able to break past. Maybe you keep signing the same amount of people into your group programs or your mastermind or your course, no matter how many different launch vehicles you try. Or maybe when you set a new monthly income goal, it feels like no matter what, you still end up at around the same revenue per month, or you might even look at your bank account. I feel like our bank account often, really can highlight a lot, and often there's like a wealth ceiling and a wealth floor—like a ceiling, meaning you actually couldn't imagine making more than this certain amount, like your body doesn't actually feel safe to hold more than that amount. So that's why, even though you'll have a really big month, suddenly a bill might pop up, a client refund request might come through. Something unexpected comes in, and it pulls you back to really, that level in your bank account that you subconsciously feel more comfortable with. Now you're also going to have a floor where, if you in your bank account, make anything less, have anything less than a certain amount, our body goes into FREAK OUT mode. We're like, whoa, what's happening? I need to go sell something. There's like urgency and fear behind it.
So these really help to show what are some of those hidden traps of success. Because proving doesn't scale. Hustle doesn't actually scale. You, you are one person, so there is a limit to the amount that you can put out energetically. And even though I know you're probably a super high performer, you've got higher capacity than most, still at the end of the day, you're not a robot. You're a human, and there's going to be a cap or you might be in this like over delivery doesn't scale. You've got group programs or masterminds that feel like cheaper versions of your one to one coaching and and so they feel heavy to deliver. Or the people who are in the program are they it feels heavy to serve them. And what got you to your first six figures is really what's stopping you sometimes, from going beyond it, like the strategy, that energy you have getting to your first six figures, where you're scrappy, you're saying yes to more things. You are getting really creative with your offers.
You are like trialing and moving forward, it's different as you start to build—like you can really build that way successfully, to your first six, even to your first 250k. It can look real scrappy, maybe even a little messy behind the scenes. No judge, I've been there, and that is the thing, though, that's going to limit you. When you're really growing to multi-six figures to seven figures, you've maxed out your nervous system, your calendar, and your capacity. And unless something changes, you're going to keep circling that same level, getting more tired by the year.
So what is the shift that really is going to change this for you? This is what I call the conscious leader shift. Because conscious leaders, they do not climb ceilings. They shatter them. They understand that scaling isn't about doing more, it's about becoming more. It's about simplifying, simple scales, complex fails. It's about tightening, tightening boundaries, tightening communication, tightening team, tightening your systems. It's about letting go of all the proving, the extra fluff, the unsustainable launches and building from presence and power instead. And it's about designing a business where you're the undeniable coach. You are the undeniable expert, the one that everyone wants to work with, not the one hustling behind the scenes to keep it all together, not the one who is like, the industry best kept secret, where you get your clients like, the worst thing that I see is really exceptionally gifted entrepreneurs who are hiding behind the scenes where your clients get great results, you get great referrals, and you're like, Wow, there's so much magic that happens in our calls, in our community, but it's like, the world doesn't know, and the world doesn't know because you're not telling them. You're keeping gate, keeping all of your genius behind the scenes. And then you wonder why you're not getting more people reaching out to you.
08:25
08:28 And if you're exhausted, really, at these like 10k, 5k, 20k months, what do you think is going to happen? At 50k? At 100k? You can't out-work your ceiling. You can't hustle your way to freedom, and the only way you scale past this invisible ceiling is to stop building on proving energy and start building on conscious leadership.
Now let's talk about where you can start to identify your ceiling and your floor. Like I want you to actually think about, what is the—what is like the number? Let's talk about your floor. What's the number that if you saw this number in your bank account and it dipped below that number, you would go into a total panic? You might feel that contraction, that tightening, that worry, this anxiety, what is that number? And then on the flip side of it, what is your energetic ceiling, the number that, if this amount of money would come into your account today, and your immediate thoughts were, Wow, can I really hold that much? Am I wise enough with my money, with my investments, to do good things with this money? Or do I feel pressure if this money was in my account? Like pressure to not mess it up? Pressure. Not lose it all, pressure to make wise decisions.
10:08 clear on that,
10:12 that energy, that capacity, that lower that lower floor as well as the upper ceiling, what we want to look at is it's almost like an accordion where you can stretch your energetic capacity to hold more wealth. And what we want to do simultaneously, we want to do two things at the same time. We want to raise your energetic ceiling so that you can hold more, that your body feels safe to hold more that it's not going to freak out and go into massive spending when you do make more, and we want to raise your floor, so the more we're like raising the floor while also stretching the ceiling. This is when your body's going to start to really feel more comfortable with holding more wealth. Because here's the thing, we can say, that we want something. You can say, oh, I want to have a 50k month. I want to have 100k
11:07 month.
11:08 You might say that out loud, but if underneath it, your subconscious thoughts, like those subtle thoughts, the ones that come up. If it's something like, I feel like, if I had that, what would I need to do to get that? How much work would I need to put in to be good enough? How much more responsibility would I have? What would the pressure feel like? And it starts to feel heavy. Then you have a, what I call like an internal conflict. You have a conflict between what you say that you want out loud and what behind the scenes, your subconscious feels safe holding and you can't have more than what you feel safe to have, which is why so much of this secret podcast we're going to be talking about this piece, because you can have all the strategies in the world. However, if your body doesn't feel safe receiving the thing that you want, then you're not going to have it. So we need to look at both things. That's why I will always say that conscious leadership, being a conscious entrepreneur, is about working on both your inner and outer authority.
So your inner authority starts with your identity, how you see yourself? Do you keep calling yourself a beginner when you're really not a beginner? Do you keep saying that you need to get more testimonials, more certifications, more clients before you can raise your price, before you feel like you're credible enough, before you feel like then I'll be able to get really bold in my content, start saying things that feel a little more raw, a little more spicy. All of these things really showcase, like where we have opportunity to grow, and here's one of the biggest lessons I've learned in building and scaling my business to seven figures with a small team, and while actually reducing the number of hours that I work. So right now, I hold way more clients than I ever did three years ago, when I started, like three years ago, I would have thought having 12 people in a group program would feel like a lot—like holding 12 clients. There was a time in my business where I held 12 clients and maybe like two, one-to-one clients.
So I had 14 clients in my world, and I felt so maxed out. Now I have over 50 clients in my world. Their results off the charts, better and better and better. Clients are hitting insane milestones, selling out 18k packages, selling out 20 spots in their group programs like having huge success, but the delivery for me, for me, feels the lightest it has ever felt, and that is because I really worked on my capacity and what you are feeling right now, like where you feel discomfort, where you feel a stretch, is actually something to lean into. It's actually good to stretch the comfort zone. Part of how you increase capacity is by starting to stretch your growth zone, your comfort zone, starting to stretch what you think is possible for you.
So how can you start to do that? Like. I want you to think of right now. Let's just take money. For example. If there is a income goal you that is on your heart right now, you really want to hit a certain income goal in your business. Maybe you're looking to hit your first 10k month, or you're looking to hit your first 100k month. I want you to think like, how when you think about that goal, how does it feel in your body? Does it feel like when you think about actually making that money, like if that money came into your account today, would you feel this expansion? Would you feel this like opening in your chest, this like excitement, this certainty, or when you think about that, that new income level, do you feel a contraction? Do you feel a weight? Do you feel even more dense in your body? You might even notice that your body kind of withdraws, or maybe you feel a tightening in your throat or in your shoulders, or it might even feel like you might actually feel a little nauseous.
This is a clue. Discomfort is not something that we try to avoid as an entrepreneur. I mean, good luck if you are, because how do you get into entrepreneurship without avoiding discomfort, really building and scaling something that's your mission that you're so excited to do actually requires you to find comfort in the discomfort.
In fact, every time that I think about my business right before you've had a really big up level, a really big shift, what some might call a quantum leap—like right now, even in my business, we are having in the company, a quantum leap year. We are already on track to more than double what we did last year, even though this year feels like the easiest and lightest that it has since I started my business, and a lot of this is because I've had to really create and intentionally attune my body to my nervous system, to the level that I'm growing into. So
I'll tell you. I'm just gonna give you a little behind the scenes here. I used to really desire having 100k launch. It was something that I journaled about. It was something that I wrote affirmations about over and over and over again. It was on my vision board. It was the goal that I set for almost all of my launches. And I had launch after launch, after launch where I did not hit it, where I'd get to maybe 50k or I'd have a launch that was like 86k, like so close, but it was like this elusive 100k launch. I could just not crack it. And so I realized, though, when I really sat and thought about the 100k goal, and I sat and I asked myself, like, how do I feel if this were to come in today? What are the first thoughts? And I noticed that it felt really heavy. I noticed that I immediately felt pressure. I was like, What if 100k launch would mean that I would have a bigger influx of clients coming in, and I would worry, are they all going to have a good onboarding experience? How am I going to manage the calls? The calls might feel heavy because there's going to be more people on them. So how am I going to answer all their questions without it being like a two-hour call? So I noticed that I had this resistance.
And the biggest thing, when we think about creating our goals and really having everything on your vision board really come to life, which I know is possible for you, like right now as I record this episode, I can see my vision board on my phone. It's the screen saver to my phone, and I am floored that nearly every single thing that I've put on my vision board has come through, and we're only halfway through the year at the time of this recording and this is why, yes, we can do all the vision boarding. We can be really clear on what we want. But the most important thing as well is to look at where we are blocking the desire, like, where are you blocking? Actually receiving this. I did not realize that I was blocking my 100 came launch, because I was actually—I didn't actually want to receive it. Subconsciously, I was worried about the amount of work and the pressure, and did I have all the systems and automation set up, and would it be seamless, or would it be broken? And so I did not even recognize the subtle ways that I.
Would self sabotage the 100k launch. I would self sabotage it by going like 80% in my launches, delivering an exceptional experience, but then during the sales cycle, kind of taking my foot off the gas. Have you ever done that where you're at mid launch? You've done all the planning. You've executed the master class, the challenge, whatever it is. And then during this sales period, you come out strong, but then you kind of fizzle out. You go a couple days where people aren't buying. You stop talking about the offer. That's what I was doing, and I could not understand why I was doing it right. Because logically, we always understand, oh, what? What would be more helpful to talk about my offer today or to go silent and hide today, like the answer is always so obvious. So what we need to explore is like, what is actually the resistance? And when you can look at what is the big goal that you have, whether it's maybe it's a financial goal, but maybe it's not. Maybe it's a goal around the number of lives you really want to impact.
21:11 Maybe you have a goal around putting together a life changing in person, retreat.
21:21 Whatever your goal is, I want you to
21:23 think and ask,
21:27 is there a part of me that does not want this? Why would I not want this goal? And actually look at it? What you lean into this is going to bring up a lot of really interesting things for you. Like, I've had a lot of clients recently who have said I really want to fill out my one to one coaching or I really want to sell out my group program, but I'm worried about burnout.
21:55 I'm worried about burning out.
22:00 And this is like, okay, great, we're like uncovering the thing that's like actually blocking you from having the launch that you really want. And what we need to work on is your capacity, your belief, your systems. So I really want you to look at as you examine your big desire.
22:21 Why do you actually not want it?
22:24 And then the third step is to look at opposing evidence. Because our brain loves to look for evidence. It's how your brain is hardwired. So if you are, if there's this underlying fear, let's say of burnout, I'm afraid to have that goal because it means I'm going to burn out. Then I want you to look at what are all the opposite proof points that show you that literally, the opposite could pop could be true. So when you're clear on your goal, you're clear on like, what is actually coming up for you, on why you may not want that goal. And then the third step is looking at, what is the evidence? What evidence can you gain that actually proves the opposite? Because what I have found, for example, in the burnout is actually the more the bigger the income goal, the more resources I have that actually my biggest months that I've ever had in my business have never really felt like the hardest ones. Your girl is hustling way harder for a 10k month than she was for 100k month. And so it started to show me this, like new what if? Well, like, what if it was actually easier and lighter at 100k month? What if it was actually lighter? What if I was more supported? So I love adding in the what if and starting to play with this new belief, like, that's a way to start to rewire your brain, to feel comfort, to start to accept, so start to ingrain a new belief. It's like, what if? What if it was actually easier?
24:20 What if it was even more fun?
24:25 So as we close out this episode, I really want you to think about how you can start to get really clear on the big goal. We're going to dive deeper inside of the next episodes around how you can really start to untangle the blocks or the self sabotage that are coming up, how you can reverse the hustle to proving the pressure and really sell in a different way. So if right now, the way that you're selling feels like it's working, but it's also. Keeping you in the grind. And you did not come here to work harder. You came here to lead then I can't wait to see you in the
25:07 next episode. You.
