Do Sales Really Slow Down in the Summer?

Have you heard people say that it’s nearly impossible to make sales in the summer?

People are…

πŸš— Traveling

β˜€οΈ Playing outside

🧘🏻‍♀️ Disconnecting from their phones

πŸ€ͺ Trying to figure out how to keep their kids busy all summer long

Ready for my hot take? Coaches and online business owners have been told a LIE

We’ve been told that summer months are often slower in business..but I’m here to bust that myth all the way open. What if your summer could be full of fun, sun, and cash?! I’m talking blow your own damn mind at how clear and simple it is to call in more clients.

YES YOU CAN.

Creating a strong sales plan for the summer can give you a major cash influx and set you up for a bigger-than-ever launch in the fall.

So how can you flip the script and avoid the dreaded summer sales slump?

Here are my top 5 tips for making more sales this summer:

  1. Decide on a low-ticket and high-ticket offer to promote for the next 30 days. Make sure that your low-ticket offer topic connects to your high-ticket offer. (Hello ascension model!) Get creative with your offers to include things like short-term Voxer support, exclusive Masterclass calls, VIP upgrades, and 90 minute intensives. And always keep retention in mind! Your offers should lead nicely into one another to support your clients in achieving their next goal.
  2. Create a social media promotion strategy that aligns with the offer you are selling, and plan to post 4-5x a week. I know everyone tells you to create value-based content in the form of tutorials and how-tos, but that shouldn’t be the ONLY type of content you create. Add in personal stories, sales posts, and testimonials to activate your audience. Showcase what you or your clients did to create results and how they will learn this exact strategy in your offer

  3. Promote the high-ticket offer first and then use the low-ticket offer as a down-sell. Now you’re never leaving money on the table. Most people won’t be ready to jump straight into your high-ticket offer, so give them the opportunity to dip their toes in some low-ticket offers first. Having a product suite that is going to support your clients at different points in their journey also supports your financial and lifestyle goals.
  4. Host a lead-generating event like a masterclass or challenge and sell on the backend of it. Offer a fast-action discount that is only for masterclass attendees. This could be a discount on your offer or a bonus like a 1:1 call or a free training. Remember, your masterclass or challenge should be WAY more than a fluffy sales pitch. Pack it full of juicy value, and you’re going to attract buyers who are ready to hear more from you!
  5. Connect with your recent followers and start building a relationship, but don’t pitch anything right away. It’s a lot like dating - first impressions count! And no one likes a SPAMela Anderson. ;) Take the time to build rapport by finding common ground (college degree, volunteer interests, hometown, etc.) and asking interesting questions about their industry. Do your research!

And guess what? These habits you’re building will not only give you a fun cash injection for these hot summer months, but they’re the strategies that will create consistent sales all year long.
